Paddy O’Rourke was of Irish descent
Every penny he made was a penny he spent
Every penny he spent was a penny he lost
Now he lives in stark poverty counting the cost

How he wishes he’d saved for that bleak rainy day
When pennies no more would be winging his way
Take a lesson from Paddy, life just isn’t fair
And the lesson to learn is, ‘Don’t leave your arse bare’.

(Heikkilä - McGowan) Can't tell much about this, I just made the first melody that came to my mind and fit this poem. -- Jore

What? Don't you do four melodies and then choose the best? I can't tell much about this either. My father's influence is appparent as 'Never leave your arse bare' was a favourite comment of his - meaning 'Always make sure you have some money in reserve'. --Davy
